Position Details:

Recently we’ve added Business Development projects in China and Tanzania to our roster and over the coming years we foresee considerable growth in this sector, particularly among populations and locations which are traditionally underserved by existing institutions. As a result, we’re looking for a Strategic Director with considerable international business experience working within developing markets to lead our development team. 

The successful candidate will provide leadership and guide our implementations in China, Tanzania, South Africa and other locations. The position is highly dynamic and you’ll be expected to multitask and juggle multiple projects simultaneously. We are looking for a strong, independent leader who lives and breathes the principles of social purpose business. You’ll need to possesses the ability to think strategically and globally while bringing the skills and energy required to deliver real results to the local level. 

 

Requirements:

The minimum education requirement for this position is an advanced university degree in business (MBA, other Master’s degree or equivalent). 

Language proficiency is a top concern. The successful candidate must be proficient in English as well as Mandarin Chinese. (Proficiency in Swahili or other African languages will be considered a major plus).

A minimum of 5 years experience in international business at senior level in developing markets preferred. The successful candidate will be expected to leverage his or her international professional network to bring projects to fruition.

You can expect travel to be a significant part of this position. You must be flexible and willing to travel in remote and isolated locations.
